Privacy Policy

Repurpose AI ("the extension") is a Chrome extension that helps users transform written content into platform-specific social media posts using AI. This privacy policy explains what data we handle and how.

What we collect

We do not collect or store any personal information. The extension does not use accounts, analytics, tracking pixels, or cookies. We do not track your browsing history, location, or activity.

The only data the extension transmits is the text content you explicitly choose to repurpose (either by pasting it into the side panel or by highlighting it and selecting "Repurpose this" from the right-click menu). This is transmitted solely to generate the repurposed output you requested.

How your content is handled

When you click "Repurpose," the text you provide is sent to our backend server, which forwards it to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. The generated content is streamed back to the extension. We do not log, store, or retain the content you submit or the results generated on our servers.

Limited Use disclosure

Repurpose AI's use of information received from Chrome Web Store users complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

• User-provided content is used only to provide the content-repurposing feature visible to the user.
• It is never transferred to third parties except to Anthropic for the sole purpose of generating the requested output, or as required by law.
• It is never used or transferred for advertising, including personalized or retargeted advertising.
• It is never sold.
• No humans read the submitted content except (a) with the user's explicit consent, (b) when necessary for security purposes (e.g. investigating abuse), or (c) to comply with applicable law.

Anthropic's handling of API requests is governed by their own privacy policy.

Local storage

The extension stores the following data locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. This data never leaves your device:

• A monthly count of how many repurposes you've made (for the free-tier limit)
• A local history of your recent repurposes, so you can revisit previous results

You can clear this data at any time by removing the extension.

Rate limiting

To prevent abuse, our backend temporarily holds request counts in memory, keyed by IP address. These counts are not persisted to disk, are automatically cleared, and are not associated with any identity.

Third parties

The only third party involved in processing your requests is Anthropic (the provider of the Claude AI model). We do not share data with advertisers, analytics providers, or any other third parties.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
